Victory's
Vision for 2008
Graphically
demonstrating that they don't see their future walking in Harley's shadow, Victory
have shown their radical new tourer for the first time - and no, it's not a
concept, it's a production model!
Combining Ness's swooping curves, Victory's proven 100/6 Freedom motor, more than a hint of classic streamliner from this angle and a host of modern luxuries, it grows on you very quickly, once you get over the stubby front end.
With
a height-adjustable electric windscreen and deflectors, low seat (as in Low
Rider country) and an engine that we know to be a hard working but understressed
torque-monster and a style sets it apart from anything from any other manufacturer,
it should be well-received in the US in one of its two guises: Touring and Street
separated by a stylised top box. No information yet regarding whether its swooping
styling compromises its luggage capacity, but hopefully not if it's going to
give Gold Wings and BeeEms a run for their money and realise its potential.
