Victory announce new models for 2008 25/7/07
A couple of days too late to make the breaking news for the current issue, Victory's Vision Tourer is a reality in the US and we're waiting to see if it gets to the UK for '08 or whether we've got to wait until 2009.

The news on the Vision is that it's powered by the biggest Freedom motor to date: a 6-speed 106-inch stroker version of that fitted to the rest oif the range, generating 92hp and 109ftlbs out of the box. It's available in five levels of trim, two Street version without a tourpack and three touring models with, with both types getting a basic and a 'Premium' version for an extra $1,500, and the tourer getting a 'Comfort' as a more modest $500 on top if the basic.

Otherwise, the Vegas, Hammer and Kingpin return with a few new versions of their own. The Vegas gets a 'Low', the Hammer S returns in 2-tone black and grey, and the Kingpin gets a budget 8-Ball version in black-on-black for just $400 more than the Vegas 8-Ball. That really isn't much for USD forks, a lot of extra metalwork on the mudguards and more front rubber - indeed, it's only bodywork, a second disc and tacho away from a budget Hammer.

Late addition to the H-D 08 model range 10/7/07
Less than twenty-four hours after announcing their 2008 range, Harley have finally confirmed that the XR1200 is for production in Spring 2008. There is nothing released to suggest it is anything more than the bike that Harley-Davidson have been hawking round the bike shows for the last nine months, confirming what we've long thought was a pre-production bike more than a prototype. A bumper year indeed. Harley announces bumper crop for 2008 9/7/07
News is trickling in from The Motor Company for their 105th Anniversary year and as well as the much anticipated Nightster there's a few unexpected additions, and a few unsurprising omissions.

Out goes the Wide Glide in the UK for want of greater support in the face of the Custom Softails, and the Night Rod and Street Rod's demise ends the availability of mid-set footrests on a VR in Europe: oddly, the US retains the Night Rod as a third VR so it could still be available on special order, but the Street Rod has left the building.

In comes a Europeanised 2008 Nightster, the 2008 Dyna Fat Bob, the 2008 Softail Rocker and Rocker C, as well as six-gallon tanks on FLHs, and a 1250cc motor on the remaining VRs. Still no word on the XR1200 however. more ...
